"February 22-24, 2008 Movie Box Office"
"Vantage Point" #1
at www.wildaboutmovies.com
The long delayed "Vantage Point" debuted at #1 this weekend at the movie box office. None of the other new movie releases could capture a spot higher than #7 - and that was another long shelved film, "Be Kind Rewind." This weekend seems to be the biggest in recent memory of releases that have been held up for six months or more. The well reviewed "Charlie Bartlett," which debuted at #14 at the movie box office, was originally scheduled for an August 2007 release (see original "Charlie Bartlett" posters). "Witless Protection," another Larry The Cable Guy piece of crap, entered the fray at an unlucky #13.
While the "80th Academy Awards" are live, right here at www.wildaboutmovies.com, TONIGHT - Sunday 24 February - most "2008 Oscar Nominees" faired poorly at the box office. The big question is, if "Juno" happens to win the "2008 Best Picture Oscar" tonight, will it climb to the #1 spot next week?
Do stay tuned...
For now...
As for "2008 Oscar Nominees" - the ones that performed best this past weekend:
"Juno" #8
"There Will Be Blood" #10
