"May 2-4, 2008 Movie Box Office"
"Iron Man #1" - w/$105 million
at www.wildaboutmovies.com

Iron Man

"Iron Man." Yes. "Iron Man," starring former Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. becomes the tenth movie in movie box office history to take in over $100 million during its first three days in movie theaters.

If you're wondering what the last movies were that took in $100+ at the movie box office in their first three days in theaters - the answers are both "Shrek 3" and "Spiderman 3" - each released in May 2007. How many movies released in 2008 will accomplish that feat? Hmmm. Well, "Indy 4" could end up becoming the highest grossing movie ever, beating out "Titanic," for all we know.

The rest of this weekend's movie box office report is self explanatory. Including the high per screen averages of all new LIMITED movie releases.

PS: Expect "IRON MAN 2" to hit movie theaters May 2010.
