I'm Not There Poster Cate Blanchet may be the most recent actor to get 2 "Oscar Nominations" for acting during the same year, ("Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and "I'm Not There"), but she joins nearly a dozen others.

However, she takes a unique honor. The only actor to have ever been nominated for an Oscar for portraying the same character two times. Yes, over a decade ago, Cate Blanchet received her first Oscar nomination for portraying Queen Elizabeth in "Elizabeth." Eleven years later, she is back, making Oscar history, with a Best Actress Oscar nomination for the sequel to "Elizabeth," "Elizabeth: The Golden Age."

In addition, Cate Blanchett was also honored with a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination this year. For playing a man, Bob Dylan, in the biopic "I'm Not There."

Believe it or not, "Elizabeth" director Shakir Kapur insists there will be a third in a planned trilogy of "Elizabeth" movies, with Cate Blanchet reprising her role again. So, if Cate loses the Best Actress Oscar this year, which she most likely will, she's got a good chance of making even bigger history in another decade, when the final "Elizabeth" is filmed and she presumably will get another Oscar nod for the role. Third time the charm?
