"Tim Nasson's 2008 Oscar Winner Predictions"
"THERE WILL BE BLOOD"
by Tim Nasson

There Will Be Blood Movie Poster

Yes. Of course I waited until the last minute to post - for posterity sake - my "2008 Oscar Winners" predictions. How will my predictions fare? Well, to be honest, your guess is as good as mine, or your dog's.

Keep in mind, while reading the list below, a born and bred Bostonian, I rooted for and thought that The New England Patriots would win Super Bowl 42. I would have bet my life, and yours, too, on it, if I was the betting type. Thank whichever god you believe in, if any, that I didn't bet a cent on the worst Super Bowl in history.

Will this year's Oscars, the "2008 Oscars," prove to be the lowest rated ever, or somewhere in the middle? There really are no big names that anyone wants to tune in to see win.

No Leonardo. No Martin Scorsese. No Tom Cruise. No Madonna. No Meryl Streep.

We have Diablo Cody, (not even her fucking real name, the bitch), Ellen Page and Jason Reitman. And a little movie that just may, "Juno."

The only "sure thing" at the "2008 Oscars" - well, Daniel Day Lewis. "There Will Be Blood" if he happens to lose.

Without further ado...

Tim Nasson's "2008 Oscar Winners" predictions:
*

Best Picture Oscar 2008
"Juno"

Best Director Oscar 2008 - *

Joel & Ethan Coen for "No Country For Old Men"

Best Actor Oscar 2008 - *
Daniel Day Lewis for "There Will Be Blood"

Best Actress Oscar 2008
Julie Christie for "Away From Her"

Best Supporting Actor Oscar 2008 - *
Javier Bardem for "No Country For Old Men"

Best Supporting Actress Oscar 2008
Ruby Dee for "American Gangster"

Best Original Screenplay Oscar 2008 - *
Diablo Cody for "Juno"

Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar 2008
Samantha Morton for "Away From Her"

Best Animated Film Oscar 2008 - *
"Ratatouille"

Best Foreign Film Oscar 2008 - *
"The Counterfeiters"

Notice, while there are over twenty "2008 Oscar Nominees," I don't give a rat's ass about predicting any of the technical award winners, as with the Documentary, Shorts, etc, not only have I not seen them, it is most likely that all who voted for each of those ridiculos categories, saw none of the nominees, either. If you want to take a look at all of the "2008 Oscar Nominees" in the technical categories. We have them. Just... (continue)

* - Indicates correctly predicted winner. 6 out of 10. Not bad. But on any exam, a grade of 60% is still a D in anyone's book.
