The Wild side: Andrew Garfield, a Brit, (who appeared in The Social Network), stars in the big screen Spider-Man origin story. In this new series (two more movies are planned) Andrew Garfield (who will be 28 when the first movie is released) plays Peter Parker as a teen.
The Movie facts: Our question: Even if Andrew Garfield is playing a nineteen year old Spiderman, why did Sony cast an aging Andrew Garfield to play Peter Parker. They might as well kept on Tobey Maguire, who is in his mid thirties. There are at least a handful of actors 'in their teens' - (some) even born in America - who were more qualified to play Peter Parker, if just for their ages - Jamie Bell, Josh Hutcherson or even Anton Yelchin.
