Hugh Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Oscar winner Russel Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Anne Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

The Movie facts: This incarnation of "Les Miserables" is Tom Hooper's follow up to his Oscar winning picture "The King's Speech."

Originally slated for release December 14, 2012, Les Miserables now arrives in theaters Christmas Day.
