The About face: The movie Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise, is based on the comic book series of the same name.

The Wild side: A court martial sends a veteran soldier (Tom Cruise) to a distant planet, where he has to destroy the remains of an alien race. The arrival of an unexpected traveler causes him to question what he knows about the planet, his mission, and himself.

The Movie facts: Oblivion, which cost more than $140 million to produce, is from the director of the Tron remake.

Oblivion was also made into an illustrated novel, Radical Publishing's first venture beyond comic books, done in a format featuring 40 fully painted landscape images that will accompany the prose.
