Ocean’s Eight is not a prequel to the Ocean’s 11, Ocean’s 12 and Ocean’s 13. It’s just that the group is now comprised of women.
In this fourth in the big screen franchise, Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou (Cate Blanchett), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), Nine Ball (Rihanna), Tammy (Sarah Paulson), Amita (Mindy Kaling), and Constance (Awkwafina).
Not sure what the producers are doing mixing up Oscar winners and nominees with trash like Awkwafina and the repulsive Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner (who also appear in the movie). It’s not like Kim Kardashian or Kendall Jenner will help sell one ticket to the picture. In fact, their disgusting presence in the film will most likely keep millions away.
Gary Ross, the director of Seabiscuit and the first The Hunger Games movie, directs.
