"Quantum Of Solace" #1
at www.wildaboutmovies.com

007

"Quantum Of Solace," the 22nd James Bond movie debuted Friday with the best opening day in the decades old franchise - $27 million. 007 went on to grab $70 million its first weekend in North American movie theaters. Last week's #1 movie, "Madagascar 2," dropped to #2 taking in $36 million, its second weekend in theaters. At #3, the Sean William Scott / Paul Rudd raunchy comedy "Role Models." It snagged nearly $12 million for a ten day gross of $38 million. Not bad for an R-rated B-list comedy starrer.

Oh. Only one new movie was released in wide release - "Quantum Of Solace" - in nearly 3500 theaters. It, of course was #1. But another movie, in only 10 theaters, cracked the Top 25, too. "Slumdog Millionaire" entered the fray at #23.
