"Drake and Josh Go Hollywood" is less a movie than the Most Awesome Episode Ever of Nickelodeon's top-rated odd-couple tween-com. Drake Bell and Josh Peck star as mismatched high school students who become brothers when their respective single parents marry. Geek Supreme Josh finds himself at a loss when he is assigned to write about his greatest adventure for an elite creative writing program. But then his "boring" life picks up considerably: When their parents leave for a ten-day cruise, Josh and the much cooler Drake accidentally put their tart-tongued, Denver-bound sister, Megan (Miranda Crossgrove of School of Rock), on a plane to Los Angeles. They follow her to Hollywood, where, with her parents' credit card in hand, she has installed herself at a swank hotel. Along the way, the unwitting duo fall afoul of counterfeiters, and Josh books Drake's rock band on TRL. Drake Bell and Josh Peck hail from the Saved by the Bell school of acting, and the series traffics in lame jokes (a few mildly risqué, along the order of "dumb boob" double entendres), tiresome stereotypes, and, when all else fails, much shouting. But adults don't know what the little kids understand. Amiable but clueless parents, annoying siblings, and us-against-the-world crises hit the target audience where they live.
