"April 6-8, 2007 Movie Box Office" "Blades Of Glory" Ices "Grindhouse" at www.wildaboutmovies.com
In a weekend that had many movie box office anyalysts predicting that Quentin Tarantino's return to the big screen with "Grindhouse," would unseat Will Ferrell's comedy, "Blades of Glory" at the box office, it was "Blades of Glory" that skated all over "Grindhouse," retaining its #1 spot at the box office for a second weekend.
More surprisingly, Walt Disney's "Meet The Robinsons" kept its spot at #2 in its sophomore weekend in theaters.
"Grindhouse" had to settle for #4, after the dreadful Ice Cube sequel, "Are We Done Yet?" which opened at #3.
The Fox family film "Firehouse Dog" was D.O.A., coming in at #10, with less than $4 million in its debut weekend.
In limited release, "The Hoax," starring Richard Gere, took in more than $6400 per theater. In contrast, "Blades of Glory" took in just over $6700 per screen.
