"The Game Plan" #1 Movie Of Weekend

"Walt Disney's The Game Plan" stomped all over "The Kingdom," the movie everyone except Wild About Movies predicted would win the #1 spot at the box office this weekend. Not only did "The Kingdom" have to settle for #2, "The Game Plan" has a bigger shot at legs next weekend at the box office - when over one dozen new films hit the big screen.

Undisputable? Oscar season is in full swing. Movies in limited release, films destined for "2008 Oscar nominations," filled the Top 50 at the box office. Among the throngs: "The Darjeeling Limited," in two theaters, for two days; $140,000."

Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution," one theater, NYC's Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, $62,000.

Sean Penn's "Into The Wild," in thirty-three theaters, over $20,000 per screen, compared to $7,000 per screen for the bonafide #1 movie of the weekend, "The Game Plan."
