"3:10 To Yuma" Remake #1
at www.wildaboutmovies.com
This weekend, the first official weekend of the "Fall Movie Season," reveals no less than one dozen new movies in theaters. All studios releasing new movies this weekend, however, are skeptical -- at the very least, cautious. "3:10 To Yuma" and "Shoot 'Em Up" are the only new movies being released in more than 2000 theaters. Five holdovers, including last weekend's #1 movie, "Halloween," are in more theaters this weekend, than each new release. Starting this weekend, we bring you theater counts for each movie, along with running times, (not including previews). In limited release, four theaters, THINKFilm's "In The Shadow Of The Moon," a movie Mark Urman, the studio's CEO and cofounder, thinks has a "great chance at an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary" next year." For a look at the trailers and to go Behind The Scenes of all of this weekend's new films and for a look at trailers of all movies now showing, including "The Brothers Solomon," "Hatchet," "The Hunting Party," and "Romance & Cigarettes." "3:10 To Yuma" was #1, taking in $14 million on virtually 1,000 fewer screens than the #2 movie, last week's #1 movie, "Halloween," (which took in a total of $10 million its second weekend in theaters.) "Shoot 'Em Up" managed just $5 million and "The Brothers Solomon" eeked out just $500,000. Yes, it is the biggest major release bomb of the year, to date.
