"Blackmore's Night" DVD
Entry Form
The brainchild of former hard rock guitarist Richie Blackmore (previously of Deep Purple and Rainbow fame) and his wife, the vocalist Candice Night, the group Blackmore's Night represented an unusual attempt to revive Renaissance Era music, replete with mandolins, hurdy-gurdies, pennywhistles and a host of other instruments long dormant within the framework of popular music. Such album releases as Under a Violet Moon (1999), Fires at Midnight (2001) and Minstrels and Ballads received positive critical notices and helped the pair sustain its output and popularity. The performance film Blackmore's Night: Paris Moon finds the duo delivering an extended set before a live audience; it was shot on September 20, 2006 at the Olympia concert venue in The City of Lights.
