In the movie
"Dedication," Henry Roth is messed up. A New York children's book author who tells kids that Santa doesn't exist, he hates sleeping with - and next to - anyone, including his girlfriend and must lay on the floor, usually with heavy objects on top of him just to feel safe. His motto is "Life is nothing but the occasional burst of laughter rising above the interminable wail of grief."
"Dedication," a modern love story in which a misanthropic, emotionally complex author of a hit children's book series (Billy Crudup) is forced to team with a beautiful illustrator (Mandy Moore) after his best friend and creative collaborator (Tom Wilkinson) passes away marks the directorial debut of Justin Theroux. As Henry struggles with letting go of the ghosts of love and life, he discovers that sometimes you have to take a gamble at life to find love.

"Justin Theroux"

The "allegedly" openly gay Justin Theroux is about to turn 36 - on August 10, 2007!
Justin Theroux came from an artistic family. His father Eugene Theroux is an artist who graduated from Pratt Institute[citation needed], his mother Phyllis Theroux is the author of the memoir, "California and Other States of Grace" and "The Book of Eulogies". His uncle, Paul Theroux, wrote "The Mosquito Coast." Justin Theroux discovered acting while attending Buxton School, a boarding school in Williamstown, MA . Justin Theroux graduated from Bennington College with a double major in visual arts and drama.
His French last name originates form the region around Sarthe and Yonne in France. It is quite common in Francophone countries and is originally spelled Théroux. His paternal grandfather was French Canadian.
Justin Theroux made his film debut in 1996, in Mary Harron's I Shot Andy Warhol. Since then, he has performed both on Broadway, starring in the acclaimed "Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Toward the Somme," numerous off-Broadway productions and in comedies, such as The Baxter, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, Broken Hearts Club and Zoolander, and darker, more serious fare such as American Psycho. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle has been his most commercially successful film. He recently appeared in the film versions of the cult TV show Strangers With Candy and Michael Mann's Miami Vice. Some think he has taken the place of Kyle MacLachlan as director David Lynch's doppelgänger/Protagonist,[citation needed] as he is now starring in Lynch's new film Inland Empire and has already appeared in Lynch's widely known Mulholland Drive.
In 2003, Justin Theroux was featured in the music video for the British band Muse for their song "Hysteria".
Justin Theroux also has an extensive television resume, having appeared on episodes of shows such as Alias, Sex and the City and Six Feet Under (the last he guest-starred for several episodes in the fourth season).
Justin Theroux just directed his first film, "Dedication," which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and hits multiplexes August 24, 2007!
