"Far Cry" "Far Cry Trailer" - First Look "Far Cry" - In U.S. Theaters TBD ![]() "Far Cry" - The game-to-film enthusiast Uwe Boll, gained the rights to a "Far Cry" movie, even before the game was released. What's amazing is that Uwe Boll still gets financing - at times, $30 million or more per movie - for big screen film projects. Uwe Boll films have never, ever made a profit. Uwe Boll's last film, "Postal," was released in a handful of U.S. theaters in early summer 2008, showing only at midnight, for less than one week. The film cost over $15 million to make yet earned a grand total of less than $150,000, worldwide, in movie theaters. The movie "Far Cry" (which cost $30 million to produce), is an adaptation of the first-person-shooter video game of the same name where Jack Carver (Til , a retired Special Forces Officer who now is transport for hire, by people and cargo. On one particular trip Jack ferries a photographer 'Val' who wants to photograph old Japanese WW2 bases on some of the Micronesian islands. He goes through hell when his boat is attacked and destroyed by an unknown party while Val is away. Surviving by the skin of his teeth, he must now find Val and uncover what is truly happening on these dark and mysterious islands. Oscar winning director Ron Howard's hideous looking younger brother Clint, co-stars in "Far Cry."
