Mall Cop Movie Poster

January of each year is usually reserved for the releases of (dreadful) movies that couldn't compete with movies running the Oscar race - which are, for the most part, released in December of each year. The month January, during the year 2009, is no exception.

Two movies that were filmed in and around Boston, "Bride Wars," (starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson), and "Mall Cop," starring Kevin James, hit movie theaters.

As do the plethora of horror movies; "My Bloody Valentine 3D," "Possession," "Underworld 3," "The Unborn" and "The Uninvited."

Not to mention "AFTER DARK HORRORFEST," this year, in movie theaters during the month of January.

The Liam Neeson movie "Taken" is more of a thriller than an outright horror movie.

For kids, the mess of a movie "Hotel For Dogs." And for all you thugs, "Notorious."
