"Let The Right One In" - A fragile, anxious twelve year old boy, Oskar, is regularly bullied by his stronger classmates but never fights back. The lonely boy's wish for a friend seems to come true when he meets Eli, also twelve, who moves in next door to him. But Eli's arrival coincides with a series of gruesome deaths and attacks. Though Oskar realizes that Eli is a vampire, his friendship with her is stronger than his fear. Wild About Movies is betting the house on the fact that "Twilight," that 'other' vampire movie in movie theaters this fall, will be a box office bomb. (More about that later this week, but for now, the books, compared to the successes of the Harry Potter books, are nothing of the sort, and teenage vampires are not adolecsent wizards). The movie "Let The Right One In," however, is an instant classic and could become one of the most critically acclaimed vampire movies this century. In the movie "Let The Right One In," Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson weaves friendship, rejection and loyalty into a disturbing, darkly atmospheric, yet unexpectedly tableau of adolescence.
