"Phoebe In Wonderland" - In Movie Theaters March 6, 2009

"Phoebe In Wonderland" - "Phoebe In Wonderland," which had its world premiere at Sundance 2008, over a year ago, concerns a young girl (Elle Fanning, Dakota's little sister), who longs to be in her school’s production of “Alice in Wonderland.” After being cast in the lead role of Alice by her eccentric drama teacher (the always fantastic Patricia Clarkson), Phoebe reveals a unique talent but, much like Alice herself, is increasingly at odds with the world around her and begins to retreat into a world of her imagination. Though her parents (Felicity Huffman and Bill Pullman) initially see their daughter’s unusual behavior as signs of creativity, they gradually realize that Phoebe is at risk of falling “through the looking glass.”

Why has it taken so long for "Phoebe In Wonderland" to get a theatrical release? Two words. THINK Film. The company filed for bankruptcy months ago and most of its employees, including its founder, Marc Urman, bolted. Time will tell if/when the film finall does hit theaters. But, now, at least we have a movie poster.
