Rabbit Hole
Rabbit Hole In Theaters
Becca (Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman) and Howie Corbett (Aaron Eckhart) are a happily married couple whose perfect world is forever changed when their young son, Danny, is killed by a car. Becca, an executive-turned-stay-at-home mom, tries to redefine her existence in a surreal landscape of well-meaning family and friends. Painful, poignant, and often funny, Becca's experiences lead her to find solace in a mysterious relationship with a troubled young comic-book artist, Jason - the teenage driver of the car that killed Danny. Becca's fixation with Jason pulls her away from memories of Danny, while Howie immerses himself in the past, seeking refuge in outsiders who offer him something Becca is unable to give. The Corbetts, both adrift, make surprising and dangerous choices as they choose a path that will determine their fate. Sundance-Award-winning and Golden-Globe-nominated director John Cameron Mitchell ("Shortbus" and "Hedwig & The Angry Inch") brings to the screen an emotionally taut adaptation of David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer prize-winning Broadway drama "Rabbit Hole," an intimate, and often darkly humorous exploration of love tested by tragedy.Could "Rabbit Hole" be one of the ten 2011 Best Picture Oscar nominees? Most likely. And it may earn many more Oscar nominations, including Best Director (John Cameron Mitchell), Best Screenplay (David Lindsay-Abaire), Best Actress (Nicole Kidman), Best Supporting Actress (Diane Wiest), Best Cinematography... and finally give director John Cameron Mitchell the commercial recognition he so deserves.
