Synopsis: After an accident separates eleven year-old Emma Tyler from her favorite pastime, she turns a keen, imaginative eye on the hopes and dreams of the adults around her. Over the course of an intense spring and summer, Emma strikes up a friendship with a volatile young woman confronting her past, and comes to see the frailty and humanity of her family. Set in a fishing community on the Chesapeake Bay, Swimmers is about the power of friendship and the depths of human resilience in the face of a fracturing American dream.

Synopsis: Director Niki Caro (Whale Rider) brings her latest film, North Country to the Boston Film Festival for it's Boston Premiere. North Country stars Academy Award winners Charlize Theron (Monster), Frances McDormand (Fargo) and Sissy Spacek (In the Bedroom) in the inspiring story of a single mother who rallies her coworkers to rise above the unfair treatment they face at a local mining company. The film is inspired by the book titled Class Action: The Story of Lois Jenson and the Landmark Case That Changed Sexual Harassment Law, by Clara Bingham and Laura Leedy Gansler.
