"G.I. Joe," the live-action motion picture, is based on Hasbro's immensely popular line of "GI Joe" action figures.

While some remember the character from "GI Joe's" '60s incarnation, he's evolved. "GI Joe" is now a Brussels-based outfit that stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer. "GI Joe" the movie is closer in tone to "X-Men" and James Bond than a war film.

The new "GI Joe" movie focuses on the story between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, the ninja members of the "GI Joe" and Cobra forces. The main villains of the "GI Joe" movie will be Destro and the Baroness, with Cobra Commander playing a puppet-master like role.
