Mall Cop:

Mall Cop: Release Date: January 16, 2009

“Paul Blart: Mall Cop” – In Columbia Pictures’ comedy movie ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop,’ Kevin James stars as the title character, a single, suburban dad, trying to make ends meet as a security officer at a New Jersey mall. It’s a job he takes very seriously, though no one else does. When Santa’s helpers at the mall stage a coup, shutting down the megaplex and taking hostages (Paul’s daughter and sweetheart among them), Jersey’s most formidable mall cop will have to become a real cop to save the day.

Wild About Movies isn’t sure why The Burlington Mall in Massachusetts was chosen as the set for the movie “Mall Cop,” all while the movie is allegedly taking place in a New Jersey suburb.

The Burlington Mall restaurants, including Legal Seafoods, remain in all of the exterior shots. And there is not one Legal Seafoods restaurant anywhere NEAR New Jersey. It seems that the movie should have been based in a suburb of Boston, since the movie was shot entirely in Massachusetts.

One more problem with the movie “Mall Cop.” It’s a film that takes place DURING the Christmas Holiday. Yet the “Mall Cop” movie release date is January 16, 2009. Well past the 2008 Christmas season and nearly a year before the 2009 Christmas season.
