Their subsequent search for him will provide provocative insights into their loveless marriage, current Russian culture and modern society in general.

In addition to the Academy Award nomination, Loveless won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 94% critics consensus and an 8.2 average rating, was nominated for the Golden Globe, BAFTA and Independent Spirit Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and was awarded 2 European Film Awards. Zhenya and Boris are going through a vicious divorce marked by resentment, frustration and recriminations.
