My Spy follows a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, having been sent undercover to surveil her family.
The film was originally scheduled for release on August 23, 2019. STX Films, its distributor, pushed back the film’s release date to TBD 2020, because they were concerned audiences wouldn’t want to see the film’s star, Bautista, in two films at the same time. His Stuber (a box office bomb) arrived in theaters on July 12, 2019. To be honest, no one wants to see this actor at all. He seemingly has a great publicist and manager, both of whom are trying to turn him into an A-list actor. But it will never happen. Think Gretchen Mol circa 1999, when her publicist got her on the cover of Vanity Fair.
