Adam Robitel returns as director for Escape Room 2.

The first film in the franchise, released in 2019, cost under $10 million to produce and took in a whopping $110 million, worldwide, including $56 million in the United States.

Originally scheduled for release on August 14, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is January 1, 2021 TBD.
