The 14th Annual Phoenix Film Festival begins April 3, 2014 and runs through April 10, 2014.Continually breaking attendance records since its inception, last year’s festival saw over 23,000 attendees and there are hopes to pull in even more film enthusiasts this year.The week-long Phoenix Film Festival will be held once again at Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theaters located at 7000 E. Mayo Blvd. Phoenix, AZ 85054.

Tickets and passes are on sale now and available through the Phoenix Film Festival website www.phoenixfilmfestival.com.Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Phoenix Film Festival Ticket Center next to the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theater. STARS IN ATTENDANCE

The Phoenix Film Festival is bringing Hollywood over to the valley with stars and filmmakers for the 2014 Phoenix Film Festival beginning on Thursday April 4th at the Harkins Scottsdale 101.

Actress Lea Thompson (Back To The Future) will be present at the festival as her latest film The Trouble With The Truth will be showing on both Monday, April 7th at 5:00 pm and Tuesday, April 8th at 7:10 pm.Academy Award® nominee Stephen Knight (Eastern Promises) will in attendance for his latest film, Locke starring Tom Hardy, being shown at the opening night film of the festival on Thursday, April 4th.Director Richard Shepard (The Hunting Party), will also be present showing his new film Dom Hemingway, starring Jude Law and Emilia Clarke; on Sunday, April 6th at 7:00 pm.

Appearing at this year’s International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival is actor Dee Wallace (E.T. The Extra Terrestrial and Cujo) will be doing a Q&A following a showing of the 1983 classic horror film Cujo on Friday, April 4th starting at 7:30 pm.

Richard Linklater‚Äôs acclaimed hit from this year‚Äôs Sundance Film Festival, Boyhood, will be the festival‚Äôs closing night film, as the film’s star Ellar Coltrane and producer Cathleen Sutherland will be present for a post screening Q&A on Thursday, April 10th at 7:30 pm.

LOCKE- Opening Night Film starring Tom Hardy with Academy Award nominee Steven Knight in attendance.

The 2014 Phoenix Film Festival schedule of movies competing for awards:

45RPM – directed by Juli Jackson, an artist struggling with the source of her inspiration finds help from an obsessive record collector in the search for her deceased father‚Äôs lost music.

JAKE SQUARED – starring Elias Koteas, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Virginia Madsen, Jane Seymour, and Mike Vogel, a mind-bending comedy about a guy whose problems compound exponentially when younger versions of himself invade his life and try to solve his romantic problems.

KING OF HERRINGS – directed by Eddie Jemison (OCEANS 11), a Tom Waits tips-his-hat-to Woody Allen world, a group of small time wannabes, banters about the rickety streets of New Orleans to find themselves in a strange tug-o-war.

LIFE INSIDE OUT – directed by Jill D‚ÄôAgnenica, when a mother returns to her musical roots, she rediscovers the passion of her youth, and finds a way to connect with her troubled teenage son.

LITTLE HOPE WAS ARSON – an edge-of-your-seat mystery set in the buckle of the Bible Belt, ten churches were burned to the ground in five weeks, igniting the largest criminal investigation in East Texas history.

TEDDY BEARS – starring Gillian Jacobs, David Krumholtz, Melanie Lynskey, Jason Ritter, French Stewart, and Ned Beatty, a dark comedy about three couples who head to the desert to help their friend heal from the loss of his mother.

THE FRONTIER – starring Max Gail and Coleman Kelly, a retired professor and his ranch hand son try to reconnect after years of estrangement.

THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT – directed by Henry Barrial, an ambitious young Latino man who, fueled by misguided nostalgia, buys a small apartment building in the Bronx and moves his boisterous family into the apartments to live rent-free.

TEEN NIGHT

The Phoenix Film Festival has announced Teen Night for the festival – for every teen and teen-at-heart – to take place on Saturday, April 5, 2014.Teen Nightshowcases two classic films for the evening including 1995‚Äôs Clueless and 2012‚Äôs The Perks Of Being A Wallflower; both films having the central characters/themes involve teenage life. Tickets are $20 and include both screenings and chances to win great prizes. Clueless will begin at 5:10 pm; while The Perks Of Being A Wallflower begins at 7:20 pm.

Saturday 5 April is also “Kids Day” at the 2014 Phoenix Film Festival. Go to the website listed above for more information.
