The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (also known as The Conjuring 3) is a sequel to 2013’s The Conjuring and 2016’s The Conjuring 2, and the eighth installment overall in the Conjuring franchise. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren, with Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard also starring. The film is based on the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, a murder trial that took place in 1981 in Connecticut.
The Conjuring 3 tells a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
Originally scheduled for release on September 11, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is June 4, 2021.
The Conjuring 3 in theaters AND on HBO Max June 4, 2021.
