Set in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood, In The Heights is the big screen feature version of the Broadway musical, in which a bodega owner has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune.
In The Heights is based on the hit Broadway musical of the same name by Lin Manuel Miranda.
Originally scheduled for release on June 26, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is June 18, 2021.
