The movie Uncharted is based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name that follows the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Tom Holland). The film chronicles Drake’s first encounter with the professional rogue Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) and is a prequel to the events in the game.
Travis Knight was originally slated to direct the film but due to Tom Holland being too busy with his third Spiderman movie, Knight had to step away. Ruben Fleischer is the new director of Uncharted.
Originally scheduled for release on March 5, 2021, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is July 16, 2021.
