The movie Hamilton is a filmed version of the Tony winning Broadway musical featuring the original Broadway cast.
Hamilton tells the story of one of America’s foremost founding fathers and first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton (played by Latino Lin-Manuel Miranda). A primarily all black cast portrays the founding fathers, including George Washington.
The movie, which features the original Broadway cast of the Tony-winning musical, had been intended to hit theaters on Oct. 15, 2021. Due to the Wuhan Coronavirus and all theaters being closed, Disney decided an early release on Disney+ would be a better financial option.
As of June 2020, Disney+ stopped offering free trials, mainly so people wouldn’t sign up just to watch Hamilton and then ditch the service.
